Budgam, July 18 (KNS): Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Akshay Labroo Tuesday said that administration has put all arrangements in place for smooth conduct of Muharram processions in the district.
He said the district administration is frequently visiting Shia dominated areas to address their issues in view of Muharram.
"It is important that our brothers from Shia community don’t face any inconvenience during Muharram processions. So to make foolproof arrangement for successful and peaceful Muharram processions we are utilising all available resources to put in place," DC Budgam Akshay Labroo as per KNS said.
He said whatever is possible and whatever is in the hands of administration will be ensured for smooth activities to be carried out by Shia community during Muharram.
He said the district administration has convened a Muharram meeting before 15 days where all things were discussed threadbare. "Grass cutting issue, electricity, water supply, road macadamization, availability of timber etc were taken up for early resolution. Major issues have been resolved and acknowledged by people as well," he said.
DC added the district Budgam will be illuminated in coming days so that Shua community do not face any inconvenience. "The administration will install 500 street lights across the district," he added. (KNS)
