Srinagar, August 22 (KNS) : Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi while addressing a youth meeting at Gojwara in Shahmar-e-Khaas Srinagar on Sunday, has welcomed the reported decision to withdraw cases against protesters in Ladakh, while making a compassionate appeal to the Government of India to extend the same gesture to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
“We welcome any step that brings healing and reconciliation. The people of Ladakh are our people and their youth are our youth. Their happiness is ours and their sufferings are our sufferings. We sincerely welcome any decision that gives them relief and a fresh beginning,” Inam said in a statement issued here,
Inam Un Nabi, however, appealed that the same compassion should be shown towards Kashmiri youth who continue to face cases arising from past protests and difficult circumstances.
“If cases can be withdrawn in Ladakh as a gesture of reconciliation, the same approach should also be adopted for our youth in Kashmir.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey too deserve a second chance, a future free from the burden of old cases and an opportunity to move forward in life.”
Inam also urged the Government of India to initiate a meaningful dialogue with the elected and legitimate political leadership of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Dialogue and compassion can heal wounds that force and prolonged legal proceedings cannot. We appeal to the Government of India to open its doors to Kashmir, engage with its elected and legitimate leadership, and take humane steps towards its youth,” he said.
“Our youth are not strangers. They are ours, their families are ours and their pain is ours. We appeal to the Government to give them relief and give Kashmir a chance to heal.”(KNS)
