Handwara, Jan 25 (KNS): Thousands of people Monday paid tributes to the victims of Handwara masscre done by BSF personals on this day in 1990, AIP spokesman said.
The function was attended by people from all walks of life and speakers paid rich tributes to the martyrs.
Those who spoke on the occasion included well-known religious scholar Manzoor Karmani, Shabir Ahmad Rather, Fareed Ahmad Khan, Mushtaq Bakshi and others.
Speaking in the occasion Er Rasheed accused the state of hiding killers in uniform and said that use of brutal force against Kashmiris will not break their will and resolve in finding the peaceful solution to the Kashmir dispute.
He said, “Not even a single perpetrator has been taken to task and India still wants Kashmiris to forget everything, but it will never happen.
Kashmiris strongly believe that whole of the J&K included other part under occupation of Pakistan is a disputed territory and the best and civilised way to resolve it is by implementing UN resolutions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelKashmiris are not enemies of India and Pakistan but cannot surrender their rights despite having sacrificed a lot and having a genuine case to plead.”
Er Rasheed demanded removal of army banker from main Chowk Handwara and alleged that it has become a symbol of bitter memories and is of no business to the army, except to refresh the heinous tragedies.
A unanimous resolution was adopted seeking withdrawal of army from engineering complex Handwara.
Later a strong procession was carried out which passed through the different markets of Handwara and ended at martyrs grave yard, where special prayers were held to pay homage to the martyrs. (KNS)
