Srinagar October 09 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial Vice President, kashmir Kashmir Ahsan Pardesi on Thursday sought setting up of a sub district hospital at the premises of formerly GB Pant Paediatric hospital in Sonwar, saying the measure will ensure accessable and quality health care services to a large populace.
Having a sub district hospital facility in the area is the need of the hour as most the area is forlorn from the district hospital, Ahsan said adding, " It has been a long pending demand of the locals to have a fully equipped sub-district hospital in the area. It is no less than a ordeal for locals to reach GMC and SKIMS, which are miles away. The problems faced by people usually compound during winter months,"he said.
" Instituting a sub-district hospital facility at the site is pivotal to strengthening health services in the entire stretch which can cater to huge adjoining areas. it is an appropriate site for instituting a sub district hospital. It is easily accessable from the surrounding areas. I hope the administration will take a decision in this direction and come up with a sub district hospital at the premises,"he said.(KNS)
