Any hasty decision about the future and the tutor could prove fatal: Qayoom Wani

Srinagar February 21:(KNS) Assessing the govt move to open the schools in Jammu and Kashmir from March 1st amid the prevailing pandemic of COVID 19, Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society Forum has cautioned the govt with regard to the health-safety of the students and the teachers who could be badly hit if the utmost precautions are not exercised in reopening of schools. In a statement issued here Chairman, JKCSF, Abdul Qayoom Wani said that children were the future and the teachers the builders of that future and any hasty decision about the future and the tutor (teacher) could prove fatal . Referring to the news reports about the mutated strains of the novel Coronavirus that claim that the new variants of Corona virus could lead to resurgence of Covid-19 cases and bring back the pandemic with severe consequences. Wani quoted Doctors body’s, DAK observations that

“After the UK variant, South African and Brazilian variants have found their way into India. “While we struggle to come to grips with the foreign strains, a “new Indian mutant strain” has been found in Maharashtra which is seeing a spike in cases after a two month lull.”…“The new variants are on the move and they can sneak into the valley anytime,”

“When experts are saying that new variants are on move and they can sneak into the valley anytime and on the other hand when there has been no vaccination against the virus made to the students and to the teachers, how come it is wise step to push the future of the nation and the builder of the nation to the wall and to make them the laboratory tools!” Wani questioned.

JKCSF suggests the stakeholders and the policymakers in the government to reconsider the decision of reopening of schools in this fiery and weary environment of pandemic where it has no ‘space and time’ of stop yet. The better options are to continue the online classes now with 4g speed available and as now the students have been adopted to the trend. (KNS)
