Skilled Human resource key to the Development of Agriculture Sector: CAO Anantnag

Anantnag March 23:(KNS)  Department of Agriculture Production and Farmer Welfare Kashmir today organized a week long training programme on Mushroom Production Technology at Govt. Boys higher secondary school barakpora Anantnag. The training programme is attended by newly recruited employees under Hon’ble PM Package for Kashmiri Migrants & Non Migrant Kashmiri Pandits of the Department. 

 
While inaugurating the training programme, Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag Sartaj Ahmad Shah in his opening remarks highlighted the importance of training to newly recruited officials and emphasized that the training will enhance competence and build skills of the employees.
 
 The programme is envisioned to augment the knowledge of employees in cultivation, harvesting, processing, value addition and marketing of mushroom. He also said that training will improve the performance of an incumbent holding a position with assigned job responsibilities. 
Moreover, Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag started the session by delivering a lecture on introduction to the world of mushrooms. Sartaj Ahmad Shah said that skilled human resources in the department and a skill based farming community could play a lead role in the progress and development of agriculture sector in the coming days. He said that Mushroom Production is an allied wing of agriculture sector that could be easily adopted by the landless farmer’s also.CAO Anantnag said that mushroom production has a huge potential to improve the socio-economic conditions of small and marginal farmers. He asked the participants of training programme to be in touch with the farmers who have developed their mushroom units and put in all the efforts to attract more farmers/educated youth towards the mushroom sector.
He said that department has already introduced a multidimensional marketing model where the marketing facilities are extended to the mushroom producers at their doorsteps so that they could fetch maximum returns for their produce.(KNS)
