Srinagar, Apr 09 (KNS): Independent candidate from South Kashmir Lok Sabha constituency, Dr. Ridwana Sanam said that the aggression among the people in South Kashmir was genuine as they have been betrayed by the people who they elected as their representatives so far.
A doctor-turned-politician also said that will try to fill the gap between a leader and people if she is voted to power.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Dr. Sanam said that she is going from village to village to be aware of the ground situation, saying her campaigning was going on very well and people are posing their trust on her as she is new in the politics.
“The aggression among people is genuine, I could have also reacted the way they are doing,” she said, adding but people are expecting a lot from here.
“People are not fools. They understand what has been done for them and what not. Had people been treated as families then the situation could have been different.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe politicians have betrayed people but at a time they angry with the politicians, people welcome me with a good gesture and apprised me that after being elected, the representatives fail to fulfill their promises,” she said.
She added that the lack of medical facilities and other things in South Kashmir will come to an end in case she is voted to power, adding that “I think there is a need to understand the sufferings of people first. If I am voted to power then I will try to fill the gap and will join hands with people at grass roots level to end their sufferings.”
Dr. Sanam further said that the solution to the problems of people can be brought if a leader is willing to do so.
Asked why did she joined politicos, Dr. Ridwana said, “A doctor serves to the patient and a politician is also tasked to do so but some people gave bad name to it. I switched to politics as I want to serve the people at grass roots level.” (KNS)
