Again, Opp creates uproar in LA over reservation issue

Matter is sub judice: Govt

Srinagar, June 16 (KNS): For the second time, the Opposition parties, joined by few ruling parties legislators, Thursday protested in the Lower House and Walked out over government’s “failure” in granting promotion in jobs to reserved category employees.
As soon as the proceedings of Question Hour began in Lower House today, National Conference, Congress, and few ruling PDP and BJP MLAs created uproar in the House and stormed into the Well.
“The government is doing nothing for protecting rights of the reserved category employees in promotions. It is deliberately not following the case in the High Court and Supreme Court,” said Congress legislators from Ladakh region, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Daldan Namgial and Ali Asghar Karbalai.
The legislators were supported by Congress MLA Ajaz Khan, National Conference legislators including Javed Rana, Mian Altaf and BJP member Dina Nath and few PDP legislators.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The members created uproar over the issue for more than 15 minutes and disrupted the proceeding during Question Hour.
Replying to the Opposition, Minister for the Rural Development, Abdul Haq Khan, said the government has no authority to bring to address the issue as it sub judice.
“The honourable members had last time also raised this issue. We made it clear that the law under Section 6 of the Reservation Act has been set aside by the High court. The members are well learnt about law and still they continue to create ruckus here,” Khan said.
The minister clarified that government can take final call over the issue after Supreme Court or High Court announces any verdict over the act.
The issue was raised by the Opposition on Tuesday and they had protested against the government. (KNS)
