Budgam, Sep 02 (KNS): Senior Hurriyat leader and president Anjuman Shari Shian Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi Friday condemned the arrest spree across Kashmir and has warned that it could have far reaching consequences.
In a statement issued to KNS, he said :“Police crackdown against the youth is a dangerous move and it can further disturb the situation and make it more worse.”
Aga Hasan while condemning the arrest of Jamat-e-Islami spokesperson Zahid Ali demanded release of all the political prisoners and youth. “Police have become a private armed wing of the pro-Indian politicians and to appease them they have waged a war with their own people,” he alleged.
“Harassment of the common people has no legal or moral justification. Targeting innocent and unarmed citizens amounts to the war crimes and it is also a grave human rights violation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe government has started a massive crackdown against the youth all over the Valley and hundreds of them have been imprisoned in different police stations,” he said.
Meanwhile, a pro-freedom rally was held in Budgam , Nasrullahpora, Mirgund, Sebdan, Zoorigund, etc. that was attended by thousands of people. Spokesperson Anjuman Shari Shain said that Aga Syed Hasan was supposed to address the rally but he is under continuous detention. He condemned the arrest of separatist leaders including Mirwazi Molvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Dr Ghulam Muhammad Hubi, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Ayaz Akbar and others.
