After Pahalgam Attack, Big Film Unit Brings Hope for Kashmir Tourism

Srinagar 01 Oct (KNS): After the recent Pahalgam attack, the decline in tourism has been heartbreaking for the valley. In a positive development, the first such large film unit — with nearly 250 members including locals — arrived in Kashmir and successfully shot an ad film in the Gulmarg–Tangmarg area.

The project was carried out freely with the full support of the J&K Police, SHO Tangmarg, Gulmarg authorities, and the CEO of Gulmarg, along with the cooperation of the Indian Army.

Producer Rahi Khan of Real Kashmir Productions expressed gratitude to DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, saying:
“Without this support, the project would have been impossible.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Khan also highlighted the vital role of the CID in granting permissions, acknowledging their support, but stressed the need for timely delivery of official permission orders.
“Film schedules are fixed according to the availability of actors, directors, and technicians, so dates are extremely important. The government should keep shooting permits on a priority basis,” he urged.

He further requested the J&K administration to ease the permission process and reopen scenic locations like Doodhpathri and Yousmarg, adding that:“Shooting in Kashmir always helps boost tourism, and this is the moment we need it most.” (KNS)
