After day long suspension Amarnath Yatra resumes

Srinagar, July 05 (KNS): A day after remaining suspended, Amarnath Yatra resumed on Wednesday following improvement in weather conditions, officials said here. 


An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that yatra was resumed today from both routes including Chandanwari and Baltal in Pahalgam and Ganderbal respectively. 

He said that the tarried were allowed to move towards the holy cave shrine from both the routes . 

Meanwhile, Divisional commissioner Jammu informed that temporarily suspended Yatra has resumed again after improvement in weather conditions. 

"The Yatra which was suspended temporarily and halted in Jammu due to bad weather conditions has now been resumed on account of improved weather conditions," he tweeted.

Amarnath Yatra commenced on June 30 amid unprecedented security measures after a gap of two years due to Covid-19z

Officials said that over 65,000 yatris have performed the pilgrimage so far. (KNS)
