Students urge authorities to investigate the matter

Srinagar, April 14 (KNS): Students on Saturday alleged that the trend of obtaining fake sports certificates from other states to get admission in various colleges and universities in Jammu and Kashmir has increased and urged the government to investigate the matter.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) a group of students alleged that it commendable that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are participating in various sports competitions and bringing glory to their regions and families.

They said the government's scheme to encourage such sportspersons by reserving seats for them in professional colleges and universities is a step in the right direction.
“However, the recent trend of obtaining fake sports certificates from foreign states to secure admission in professional colleges and universities is a matter of concern. Such fraudulent practices can deprive genuine sportspersons of their rightful place in these institutions and opportunities for higher education,” they said.

They said it is important for the government and university authorities to investigate such cases in an impartial manner and take strict legal action against those involved in promoting such illegal activities.

“It is also crucial to ensure that the rights of genuine sportspersons are protected and they are not unfairly disadvantaged by such fraudulent practices. It is also essential to maintain the integrity and credibility of the system to ensure that deserving candidates are given admission based on their genuine achievements and not on fraudulent grounds,” they said.

The students urged the authorities to take appropriate steps to prevent such practices and safeguard the interests of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. (KNS)
