Admin facilitates passage to mortal remains via Karnah-Kupwara road to snowbound Tanghdar

Kupwara, Jan 23 (KNS): In a late night assistance and amid bad weather conditions, district administration Kupwara along with army escorted men and machinery on Kupwara-Karnah road to facilitate passage to mortal remains of two persons lying in Kupwara for last two days as the road remains shut due to heavy snowfall. 


Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said the two families from Tangdar approached the administration to facilitate passage to two mortal remains to Tangdar so that the families could perform their last rites. 
 
Since the Karnah-Kupwara road is closed for the last two days due to snow and slipper condition, the families were in distress. 

Meanwhile, an official said that Mohammad Rafiq son of Bashir Ahmad Baba from Gumbal Tangdar had passed away two days ago and his body was lying in Kupwara and another person Raja Naseer Ahmed Khan son of Raja Mohammad Afzal Khan of Kandi Tangdar had passed away on January in 20 UP.

He said his body also reached Kupwara today afternoon. 

He said as the families sought help, administration escorted men and machinery to clear the road and facilitate passage to mortal remains to Tanghdar. 

Talking to Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Dr Sagar, said It was a tough process whole night, our entrie Karnah administration, including SDM Tangdar, Tehsildar Karnah and officials from police army were out braving cold at late night to ensure safe passage, he said. 

Whatever resources it takes, every life counts and every mortal remains deserves respectful farewell, he added.
During the passage, SDM Tangdar, Tehsildar Karnah, SHO Tangdar, DO Taad, several other officers and volunteers were present to ensure safe passage. 

Meanwhile, the families’ and locals expressed gratitude to district administration, army and Beacon officials for facilitating them during the bad weather conditions. (KNS)
