ADGP (Armed) flags off bike rally from Uri to Gujarat

Uri, Oct 18 (KNS): The Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) armed Syed Javaid Mujtaba Geelani on Monday flagged off 30 bikers from north Kashmir's Uri who will reach take part in Statue of Unity going to be held on October 31 in Gujarat.

Besides ADGP (Armed), several officers of Jammu and Kashmir Police participated the event which include DIG north Kashmir, SSP Baramulla, SSP APCR, SO to ADGP (Armed)  SDM Uri, SDPO Uri and others.

During the event 30 motor cyclists of Dare Devil team of Jammu & Kashmir Police left for Kewadia Gujarat who will take part in Statue of Unity event on the occasion of Ekta Diwas in Gujarat.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the function, the ADGP (Armed) said these motor cyclists have been flagged off from Uri and will reach to Kewedia Gujarat on October 27 after passing from several cities of the country.

He said the rally will participate in Statue of Unity parade which will be held on October 31. "The aim of the rally is to create wide awareness about freedom fighters who fought with valor and rendered unforgettable sacrifices", the ADGP said.

Besides, there is motto to disseminate a message in people about national integration, he added. (KNS)
