Baramulla, Jun 01 (KNS): In a significant move to ensure proper and adequate price of commodities on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Mohammad Ahsan Mir accompanied by Chief Executive Officer MC Baramulla, Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs,officers from Revenue, Metrology, Police and various other departments today conducts market checking at various locations of Baramulla town.
During inspection, the checking team realized fine of Rs 13500 on various shopkeepers for violating the legal regulations. They also destroyed contaminated vegetables and spices.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC said that such a drive have been conducted in view of upcoming holy festival of Eid so as to ensure the quality and price control besides keeping vigil on erring traders.
He said that such drives shall be conducted on routine basis so that quality of commodities is ensured. Meanwhile, he urged traders not to violate the rules and directed for displaying the rate lists at their respective trade centres.
Moreover, the ADC also warned the vendors not to encroach the footpaths failing which shall render legal action against the violators. (KNS)
