ACS assures early resumption of services at the Bone and Joint Hospital, Barzula

Srinagar  March 05:(KNS)   Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Medical Education Department, Vivek Bharadwaj visited the Bone and Joint Hospital, Barzula today morning to review the situation in aftermath of a fire incident at the hospital on Friday evening.

 
Bharadwaj, who rushed in from Jammu upon knowledge of the incident, visited all sections of the hospital and obtained firsthand information from the officials of the hospital, GMC Srinagar and Directorate of Health Services Kashmir. He directed the concerned authorities to ascertain cause of the fire as any incident of this nature was not expected in view of the regular fire safety audits and with all appropriate measures in place.
 
Reassuring of all possible precaution in future, Additional Chief Secretary said, “It is indeed a matter of great relief that all patients were safely evacuated from the incident site. A lot of restoration work took place within hours of the incident and efforts are being made to make the OPD functional at the earliest. All efforts are in full-swing to ensure that all services are restored within next ten days at the hospital.”
 
“The B&J Hospital at Barzula is very important for the people of Kashmir as around 20 surgical operations are carried out everyday at this hospital”, he further added.
 
Bharadwaj appreciated the quick efforts of the Divisional  Commissioner, District Administration, the MS and doctors of the hospital , the Fire & Emergency Services officials and the local volunteers for their quick support in rescue efforts.(KNS)
