Srinagar 8 June (KNS): Refuting the reports of ACB raid at passport office Srinagar, Regional Passport Officer Kashmir today said that ACB visited office for routine visit.

 

Talking to reporters in a press briefing at passport Srinagar,, he said that the ACB sought details of some documents from them in a written application.

 

Quoting ACB as saying to him that it was a routine visit, he said that they sought details about some cases, "I agree that details will be provided to them provided they give us in black and white."

 

He further said that ACB did not issue any statement regarding the alleged raid and added that it was not a raid but a routine visit only.

 

Saying that Passport Office Srinagar has transparent system in place, he said, " Lot of changes have happened here.we work for the people and people are feeling change. There is complete transparency at passport office Srinagar."

 

Replying on a question of denying passport to Former chief minister of erstwhile J&K state and People's Democratic party President, Mehbooba Mufti, he said that "In Jammu and Kashmir, we depend on police verification. If the CID office writes recommends not to issue passport, we don't provide passbook to anyone or otherwise we are directed by a court to provide password as in case a person approaches court."

 

ACB also said they didn't provide Passport to former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti as it was not recommended by the CID nor court to provide passport to her.

 "we are fully dependent on CID Verification or Court directives", he added.(KNS)
