Absconder involved in arms act case arrested after 25 years in Baramulla: Police

Baramulla, July 23 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday claimed to have arrested an absconder, who was evading arrest since 25 years in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

As per a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson m said that Baramulla Police under the supervision of DySP headquarter, Syed Sajad Hussain, assisted by Inspector Syed Showkat Ahmad, SHO PS Baramulla arrested an absconder namely Bashir Ahmad Lone son of Mohammad Maqbool Lone of Khadniyar, Baramulla, who was evading arrest in case FIR No. 34 of 1997 u/s 7/25 I A Act of Police Station Baramulla. 

“The absconder was immediately produced before the court where from he was shifted to jail.”

It reads that on 16/02/1997, case FIR No. 34 of 1997 u/s 7/25 I A Act of Police Station Baramulla came to be registered against 02 accused including the said absconder on the recovery of 04 Chinese Hand Grenades at bus stand Baramulla and the instant case was challaned against accused before the court on 06/03/1997. 

“During the trial, the said accused was declared as absconder by the court,” it reads. (KNS)
