Abhinavgupta Sheshadri Samiti a communal group, hell-bent on creating communal disharmony in JK: Shah

‘Hails Kupwara Pandit family; warns state Govt of mass protests’

Srinagar, June 08 (KNS): Terming the New Delhi-based group Abhinavgupta Sheshadri Samiti’s stubbornness with regard to organising a yatra to a cave in Beerwah as “communal mindset”, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah on Wednesday said the group is hell bent on creating communal disharmony in the state.
In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said the communal forces like Abhinavgupta Sheshadri Samiti, in the garb of starting the so-called yatra, want to turn J&K into a battlefield between the two communities.
“In J&K, there are hundreds of caves. This doesn’t give anyone right to conduct yatras in the name of religion. We are not against any religion but such moves are obviously aimed at giving rise to new controversies which we won’t allow at any cost,” he said.
Shah said history is witness to the fact that a saint Hazrat Miyan Shah (RA) used to stay in the said cave and there is not a single evidence of the so-called Abhinavgupta.
The pro-freedom leader warned of strong valley-wide public protests if the state government allows the communal group to conduct a yatra to the said cave. “It is disturbing to see that after clear rejection by judiciary, this group is stuck to its stubbornness,” he said.
Terming the separate composite townships or transit camps for migrant Kashmiri Pandits as attempt to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state, Shabir Ahmad Shah said despite opposition from the Pandit brethren, it is now clear that the state government has agreed for the J&K’s sell-out in lieu of power from New Delhi.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“But the people of J&K won’t allow such conspiracies of creating a rift between Muslims and Pandits,” he said.
Hailing the Pandits living in the state, Shah said they are living happily and peacefully with their Muslim brethren. He cited the example of a Kupwara Pandit family which opposed the separate colonies and preferred to live with their Muslim brethren. “This is an eye-opener for the communal elements,” Shah said.
Meanwhile, expressing deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the father of senior pro-freedom leader and chairman National Front Nayeem Ahmad Khan, the incarcerated chairman of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah expressed his condolence and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
In a statement issued to press, Shah said the deceased has spent some time with him in jail and exhibited steadfastness during that period.
Hailing the contribution of the deceased towards the freedom struggle of Kashmir, Shah expressed solidarity with the family of Nayeem Ahmad Khan.
Meanwhile, a Freedom Party delegation led by its general secretary Moulana Abdullah Tari visited Pattan and participated in the Nimaaz-e-Jinaaza of the deceased.
The delegation also included Molvi Bashir Ahmad, Sheikh Zameer, and others. (KNS)
