Abdul Majeed Mir elected president Sumo Union Taxi Stand, Sopore

Sopore, July 24 (KNS) : Abdul Majeed Mir was elected as the president for Sumo stand, Sopore while Abdul Rashid Doobi as General Secretary. The Elections for the post of president Sumo Union Taxi Stand Number 1 were held on Sunday. 

As per the details available with the news agency - Kashmir News Service (KNS), two candidates were in fray for the presidential post, whereas Abdul Majeed Mir was elected as president, securing 49 votes while as as his opponent Irshad Ahmad Dar got 34 votes. 

The elections were held under free and fair manner under the supervision of DO Police Post Bus Stand Sopore, SI Aijaz Ahamd and Industrial estates President, Javeed Ahmed Bhat.

Talking to KNS, the newly elected president, Abdul Majeed Mir said, that he will work for the betterment of Sumo Stand, Sopore. However in the meantime he urged the authorities to depute a full-time ARTO in order to redress the issues. 

Meanwhile, Sopore Police, Industrial estates president Javeed Ahmed Bhat congratulated the newly elected president and general secretary.
