588 km road length costing Rs 401 crore completed

To review the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in Anantnag and Kupwara districts, the Minister for Rural development and Panchayti Raj, Mr. Abdul Haq today convened a meeting at Civil Secretariat here.
Among others the meeting was also attended by Chief Engineer PMGSY, Executive Engineers of Anantnag and Kupwara districts.
The meeting discussed threadbare the physical and financial progress of various PMGSY schemes being executed in Anantnag and Kupwara districts. On the occasion, the Minister was given detailed brief about the present status of work by the Executive Engineers of the concerned districts.
It was given out that total road length of 492 Km was sanctioned for Anantnag district, out of which 361 Km road length has been completed by spending Rs 182 crore.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The meeting was also told that in Kupwara district a total 407 Km road length was sanctioned, out of which 218 Km have been completed on which expenditure of Rs 219 crore has been incurred. Besides, seven bridges out of sanctioned nine has been completed and upgradation work on 101 Km road length has been completed so far under various projects of PMGSY.
The Minister emphasized on improving the execution of PMGSY further besides ensuring effective monitoring of works.
The Minister also directed the PMGSY officers to conduct joint survey with the Forest department while preparing project plans and follow the guideline so that a single window system is ensured and projects are sanctioned without delay.
