Tral, Dec 22 (KNS): Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Abdul Haq Khan on Tuesday conducts an extensive tour of Tral constituency and announced an additional grant of three crores to Panchayats in the Constituency.
Minister interacted with a hundreds of people at Town Hall including Panchs and Sarpanchs. On Public demand minister granted an additional amount of three crores and asked them to take additional works under MGNREGA in the Constituency.
Abdul Haq asked the people to be part of the democracy process in the state by participating in the decision making. He asked them to participate in upcoming Panchayat elections in large numbers so that honest people are brought at the helm of affairs. He said by remaining away from the polls people give safe passage to dubious people to run the affairs.
The minister was accompanied by MLA Tral Mushtaq Ahmad Shah besides Director RDD Tasaduq Jeelani and DC Pulwama.
Minister later laid the foundation stone of Common Facilitation Centres (CFC) at Aribal in Tral Constituency.
Abdul Haq interacted with residents at Aripal, Khundur, Laroo Jagir, Lurgam, Kuchmullah, Dear and Tral town as he walked on foot meet people in the area and got the feedback of the world taken up by the people.
At Aripal minister after laying foundation stone of the CFC, he held a public meeting where the residents apprised them of their grievances and demands as well which inter alia include adequate power supply, up gradation of middle school & hospital, receiving station, better roads, water supply, timely ration supply and construction of bunds and Flood Protection works.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
At Aripal, while laying foundation of the CFC, Haq reaffirmed government commitment of creating durable assets which can last long for the posterity saying that RDD is working hard in this regard. "The CFCs serve as multipurpose asset and are beneficial for the people in catering to their larger needs," he added.
The construction of CFC h is a part of the project "CFC in every Constituency" launched by the Minister earlier this year.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister said the government led by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed doesn't believe in working from the closed doors of Secretariat but in bringing governance at the doorsteps of the people. He said people had to move from pillar to post during earlier governments for sanctioning of even a tube well but now we have made an end to this practice by putting in place a transparent and a more responsive dispensation.
Responding to public demands, Abdul Haq directed the officials to start work on Sathora-Bangidara road besides construction of a protection bund. He further assured the residents that he would raise the issue of upgrading of middle school with minister for eduction.
At Lurgam minister inaugurated a Panchayat Ghar and later interacted with the people. Minister announced rupees six lakh for the construction of Lurgam-Doodkulan road.
At Kuchmullah, minister walked into the village on foot and inquired from the people about their grievances, on public demand he directed officials to construct a path and bund over a stream and announced rupees four lakh for the same. (KNS)
