Srinagar, Mar 23 (KNS): Scores of flood victims from Aadi Pora Sopore Wednesday staged protest at Srinagar’s press enclave against the government for “failing to provide relief”.
The flood victims of Aadi Pora, Sopore who suffered tremendous loss in the 2014 deluge assembled at Press enclave and were chanting slogans like ‘we want justice’.
Demanding relief as per promised by the government, the flood victims of the said area told KNS that despite passing more than a year, the authorities are yet to provide relief to them.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“We are facing tremendous hardships due to the delay in providing relief. Our houses were severely damaged in the 2014 deluge but the authorities seem reluctant to provide relief to us,” they said.
They said, “Despite tall claims of authorities that they disbursed hefty amount among the flood victims, we are yet to receive any amount from the government.”
We appeal higher ups including Governor N N Vohra to intervene into the matter and redress the genuine demands soon. (KNS)
