Srinagar, Oct 07 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee would organise a program on October 10 to pay tributes to the political prisoners for standing up against tyranny and oppression in Kashmir. The day would be observed as prisoners Day.
According to a statement issued to KNS, AAC Wednesday held deliberations to give a final shape to the October 10 programme and decided that the members of all its constituents would meet on October 9 after Friday prayers at 2:30 pm at Mirwaiz Manzil at Rajouri Kadal.
The programme would be addressed by Chairman, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq and other Hurriyat leaders who would shed light on the importance of observing the day every year.
They would pay tributes to Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, who, as a 20-year-old, showed the way by standing up against the oppression and tyrannical rulers in 1965 and fought for truth invoking the wrath of the oppressive rulers who made him a political prisoner.
The leaders would also pay tributes and express solidarity with other political prisoners serving jails and detentions cross Kashmir and in different Indian jails
Meanwhile AAC Has congratulated Mirwaiz Umar Farooq for the honour of being selected at number nine in the list of ‘Top-10 Muslim Leaders’ of the world and for being named among 500 most-influential persons.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAAC said that Murwaiz is a beloved leader of Kashmiri masses and popular among them because of his political and diplomatic efforts of representing the aspirations of Kashmiris and highlighting the sacrifices and the struggle of Kashmiri people at different platforms throughout the world.
The statement said the Mirwaiz had put in selfless efforts in the religious and political fields as well as rendered social services and put in strenuous efforts for the resistance movement in Jammu Kashmir and thus the honour given to him by RISSC, Jordon was a deserved one.
They said it was a matter of pride and confidence for Kashmiris that Kashmir issue and the struggle of people of Kashmir were attracting attention of the world. (KNS)
