Srinagar, Jul 10 (KNS): Awami Action Committee (AAC) paid tributes to Shaheed-e-Milat Moulana Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooq and over 70 martyrs of Hawal massacre on their 30th martyrdom anniversary as per the Islamic Calendar. Majlis Quran khawani was held for Shaheed-e-Millat and other martyrs at Mirwaiz Manzil Nigeen.
In a statement issued to KNS, on this day, as per the Islamic calendar, 30 years ago, unidentified gunmen fired at peoples’ beloved leader Shaheed-e-Milat while as forces opened the barrels of their guns at Hawal in downtown Srinagar killing more than 70 innocent people who were shouldering the coffin of their leader.
The statement said that AAC pays tributes to Shaheed-e-Milat and Hawal massacre matyrs and also Shaheed-e-Masjid Moulana Mushtaq Ahmed stating that these leaders have left great footprints and a sacred cause behind which needs to be followed in true letter and spirit.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
AAC said that each member and worker of the organisation is committed to the goal or right to self determination.
The statement said AAC strongly condemns the arrests made by NIA and the frequent CASOs across Kashmir, stating that these repressive measures can never break the resolve of freedom loving people of Kashmir and instead would further strengthen their will to fight oppression. (KNS)
