AAC meeting takes stock of political situation, organizational matters

Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and head of Awami Action Committee (AAC), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday convened the meeting of AAC members of central committee, working committee, workers, district presidents, and Halqa presidents at Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar.
During the meeting the participants took a detailed view of the ongoing political situation besides discussing organizational matters.
Speaking on the occasion, Mirwaiz said that Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Mohamamd Farooq had decided to observe July 13 martyrs day as national day, adding, following that AAC would observe this day as Youm-e-Tajdeed (The day of recommitment) while expressing full commitment and resolve towards freedom struggle.
Mirwaiz said since the pro-freedom leadership of Kashmir has decided that they would observe July 13 the martyrs day jointly to pay tributes to the martyrs and also decided against a call for strike in view of the holy month of Ramadan, AAC resolved in the meeting that it would lend full support to the joint programme announced by the pro-freedom leadership and would leave no stone unturned to make the programme success at all fronts.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman said July 13, 1931 marks the beginning of the Kashmir struggle. On this day, he said the suppressed Kashmiris revolted against the despotic rule of Mahraja, adding, they raised their voices against the injustices and received bullets in their chest thereby laying the foundation of the beginning of new chapter of Kashmir struggle.
Paying rich tributes to the martyrs of July 13 Mirwaiz in his address said that right from 1931 in general and from 1989 in particular the people of Kashmir have given immense sacrifices on all counts for the exercise of the right of self determination and these sacrifices demand that we should show our commitment towards the cause with complete unity and determination.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
On the occasion, Mirwaiz stressed upon AAC workers and leaders to get ready to make the programme announced by pro-freedom leadership in view of July 13 a grand success. He also asked them to get active and make programmes scheduled for Jumait-ul-vida, Youm-e-Qudus, Youm-e-Kashmir, and idd-ul-fitar nimaaz to be held in Iddgah a success.
The Hurriyat (M) Chairman told the gathering to increase the public contact programme on grass root level, adding, the workers and leaders should strengthen their links with people to strengthen the organization and organizational structure.
The gathering also expressed grief and immense sorrow over the demise of Mujahid Awal of Kashmir’s freedom movement and former President and Prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Abdul Qayoom Khan. It said the contribution and commitment of the deceased towards resistance movement was matchless and exemplary.
Mirwaiz said Khan was a well wisher of Kashmir struggle and devoted his life for achieving the right to self determination for us. The gathering also offered Fateh-Khwani for the deceased and expressed solidarity with Sardar Atique Khan and other bereaved family members.
