Mirwaiz could not attend due to his continuous detention

Srinagar, Jul 18 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee held a condolence meeting on the sad demise of Tariq Umar Buch, uncle and close aide of its president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who passed away on Monday after a brief illness.
The meeting was held at AAC headquarters Mirwaiz Manzil, Rajouri Kadal, which the party president Mirwaiz Umar Farooq could not attend due to his continuous illegal detention at his residence for the past almost one month.
The participants paid rich tributes to the deceased, recalling his services to the people as a close aide of the Mirwaiz offering help and assistance to all those who came to seek it.
They said his tireless work with the Mirwaiz during the 2014 floods through Darul khair Mirwaiz Manzil and even otherwise will always inspire those who knew him.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The participants said that his pro poor attitude simplicity good humor and compassion was exemplary and he will be always be missed by those who knew him and worked with him.
The participants termed the continuous house detention of its president and APHC chairman as ultimate highhandedness and worst form of repression and strongly condemned it.
They said barring Mirwaiz from leading the funeral prayers of his uncle reflects the totalitarian and vengeful outlook of government and its agencies whose only mantra is to rule through might and repression. (KNS)
