AAC condoles demise of several personalities associated with it

Srinagar, Sept 07 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of several leading and eminent personalities of Srinagar who were associated with the organisation, movement and the Mirwaiz Family.

The deceased personalities include the late Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Shah, resident of Khanqah-e-Sokhta Nawakdal, Zubair Manzoor Khan son of Manzoor Ahmad Khan, resident of Firdous Colony, Eidgah near Aali Masjid, Srinagar, Master Ali Muhammad Zargar, resident of Khanyar presently City Colony, Elahi Bagh Buchpura, the AAC said in a statement.

The AAC, in a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), termed the demise of Ghulam Rasool Shah, who also served as Imam at the local masjid for a long time, a big loss.

It expressed condolence and sympathy with the deceased’s son Ghulam Ahmad Shah and his grandson Dr Showkat Ahmad Shah who is a renowned physician of Kashmir.

The organisation also extended condolences to Manzoor Ahmad Khan on the demise of his young son, and with Farooq Ahmad Zargar on the demise of his father Master Ali Muhammad Zargar who was a long-time and active member of the AAC.

The Awami Action Committee on behalf of its incarcerated head Mirwaiz Umar Farooq expressed condolences and solidarity with Shah family, Khan family and Zargar family, and paid tribute to them for their respective contribution towards the organisation. 

It also prayed for the forgiveness of the departed souls, their ascension to Jannat and patience for the bereaved family members.

Meanwhile, the AAC has expressed deep sorrow over the damage caused to the local masjid and seminary in Akalmir, Khanyar due to a mysterious fire incident. 

It has appealed to the people, especially the financially well-off ones, to generously contribute in reconstruction of the masjid and seminary, for the sake of Allah. (KNS)
