Srinagar, Aug 16 (KNS) : Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Muhammad Yousuf Misgar of Molvi Stop, Lal Bazar Srinagar who passed away after illness. The deceased was a very active worker of the organisation, and a devout follower of Hazrat Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA).

In a statement to Kashmir News Service (KNS),  the AAC on behalf of the organisation and its incarcerated Chairman Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq who continues to be under house arrest for the last 37 months (since 5 August 2019) expressed condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family members of the late Muhammad Yousuf Misgar, and paid rich tributes to him for his sincere contribution towards the Awami Action Committee, the movement and society.

Late Muhammad Yousuf Misgar was an enthusiastic and active worker who played a role in taking forward the AAC programmes throughout the region and strengthening the organisation under the leadership of Hazrat Shaheed-e-Millat (RA), and after him, under the leadership of the current head of the organisation Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, the statement said, adding that the role Misgar Sahib played in strengthening the organisation is commendable in every way.

Terming the demise of Muhammad Yousuf Misgar as a great loss in the ranks of the organisation, the AAC offered condolences and expressed solidarity with the Misgar family, especially the deceased's brother Muhammad Shafi Misgar and the organisational officials and workers of Lal Bazar area.

It is worth mentioning here that the Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir has not been able to participate in the funeral prayers of dozens of leaders, officials and workers of the organisation due to his continuous detention, nor has he been given the opportunity to condole directly with the bereaved, which is very unfortunate and condemnable, the AAC said.(KNS)
