AAC condoles demise of Haji Abdul Sattaar Gagru

Srinagar, Sept 14 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of Haji Abdul Sattaar Gagru, resident of Kadi Kadal, Srinagar, who was a long-time and senior member of the organisation, a well-wisher of the Mirwaiz Family and a respected personality of the city.

Paying tributes to Haji Abdul Sattaar for his selfless contribution towards the organisation, movement and Kashmiri society especially in Shahr-e-Khaas, the AAC in a statement issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that when its founder Shaheed-e-Millat (RA) and the entire leadership were imprisoned in 1965, late Haji Abdul Sattaar was also arrested as he was an enthusiastic and a vigorous activist, due to which he also faced hardships and interrogation.

Apart from the personal devotion and love of the Mirwaizeen-e-Kashmir especially the Mufasir-e-Quran Muhajir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Yusuf Shah (RA), Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moilvi Muhammad Farooq (RA) and the present Mirwaiz Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, the AAC praised the deceased for his deep devotion and attachment with Jama Masjid Srinagar and his sincere efforts of  to promote the  sermons of Mirwaizeen-e-Kashmir

On the demise of the late Haji Abdul Sattaar, the AAC and its head Mirwaiz  Umar Farooq, who has been under house arrest since August 5, 2019, has expressed sorrow and grief, terming the demise as a great loss. 

AAC also paid rich tribute to his services and expressed condolences and sympathy with the deceased's sons Abdul Hameed Gagru, Shabbir Ahmed Gagru, Mushtaq Ahmed Gagru and Javed Ahmed Gagru.


Haji Abdul Sattaar Sahib had  wished that his Namaaz-e-Janaazah should be led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who unfortunately due to continuous incarceration was unable to do so. 

However, the funeral prayers of the deceased were held inside the premises of Jamia Masjid Srinagar which was attended by a large number of people apart from the organisation's senior members. Haji Abdul Sattaar Sahib was buried in his ancestral graveyard amid moist eyes. (KNS)
