Srinagar, Sep 5(KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the former leading and active worker of the organisation and former president of AAC's Naid Kadal constituency, Al-Haaj Ghulam Hassan Rangrez.

In a statement, the AAC on behalf of the organisation and its incarcerated Chairman Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq who continues to be under house arrest for the last more than three years termed the demise of Khawaja Ghulam Hassan Rangrez as a big loss to the organisation and paid tribute to the deceased for his political sacrifices towards the organisation, movement and society spanning six decades and also his struggle to take forward the AAC's programmes in Srinagar city, especially in Shahr-e-Khaas, under the leadership of the organisation's founder Hazrat Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA).

The statement said that the late Ghulam Hassan Rangrez, whose entire family has been associated with the Mirwaiz family for centuries, responded to the call of the martyred leader at every stage, and after him despite his old age, on the instructions of the current head of the organisation Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq. However, he was bedridden for a long time due to poor health.
