AAC condemns killing of two civilians in Hyderpora encounter

Srinagar, Nov 17 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) on Wednesday condemned and expressed grave concern over the killing of two civilians in Hyderpora encounter on Monday evening.

In a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), AAC said that according to family sources, the way these two innocent persons were killed by the forces amounts to murder of humanity, democracy and justice.

Calling the tragedy an eye-opener for the human rights organizations, AAC demanded that the bodies of the deceased should be immediately returned to the bereaved families.

"In this tragic hour, the Kashmiri people not only stand with the grief-stricken families but also express full solidarity with the victims. Since 1947, the killings and bloodshed in Jammu and Kashmir and the relentless violation of basic human rights have continued unabated and all this is due to the lingering Kashmir dispute," AAC said.

It said that unless India, Pakistan and the Kashmiri people come together to find a permanent solution to this issue, lasting peace and security in the region is not possible. (KNS)
