Srinagar, Sep 11 (KNS): A meeting of the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee (AAC) district presidents members and activists presided over by General Secretary G N Zaki was held in Srinagar today.
Condemning the Arrest of its Chairman, Mirwaiz Dr. Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq lodged in a sub jail for the last 15 days before which he was under house arrest for almost two months, the AAC leaders and activists in a statement issued to KNS demanded his immediate release ahead of Eid Ul Azha so that he could fulfill his duties and obligations as religious head of Kashmiri Muslims.
The meeting also demands the immediate release of all unified resistance leadership, activists and youth and those under house Arrest and condemned such arbitrary and vengeful actions of the ruling regime.
Expressing deep concern over the violence being unleashed on people in Kashmir valley and Chenab valley in the form of killings, maiming and ,blinding by use of lethal weapons including pellet guns and tear smoke shells ransacking of residences and thrashing of people, arbitrary arrests and harassment the AAC leaders said that such means were employed to annihilate the people of Kashmir and turn Kashmir into a mass graveyard and to teach the people so Kashmir a lesson that they dare not raise their voice against the mighty India.
During the meeting, the AAC leaders paid glowing tributes to Abdul Qayoom Wangnoo of Aali Kadal, Sajad Ahmad Sheikh of Gunpora Shopian and Yawar Ahmad of Batengoo Islamabad, the three civilians martyred mercilessly by the government forces during the past two days and rest of over 80 civilians killed by them and also prayed for the early recovery of over 10,000 civilians injured during the past 65 days of uprising.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Urging the international community, emancipated nations, human rights bodies, United Nations Organisation (UNO), Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and other international Organisations to be proactive and play their role to pressurize New Delhi to stop its anti-human policies of oppression, suppression and state terrorism in Jammu Kashmir and help resolve Kashmir issue in light of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir allowing Kashmiris their right to self determination or find a solution to the vexed issue through tripartite talks among the three main parties to the dispute.
The AAC leaders and activists said that their support and participation in freedom rallies and protest demonstrations across the Kashmir and Chenab valley will continue till people do not achieve their goal.
Urging people to be mindful of the prevailing situation and to observe Eid-ul-Adha with austerity, the AAC leaders called upon them to support the violence-affected families and help them in whatever way possible. During the meeting, it was decided that this year hides of sacrificial animals would be handed over to the local Bait-ul-Maal and AAC activists collecting the hides are asked to hand them over to local Bait-ul-Maal besides keeping an eye on the anti-resistance and anti-unity elements .AAC urged people to follow the unified resistance leadership’s programme in letter and spirit.
