Srinagar, Apr 11 (KNS): Sternly condemning the action of government forces during which they killed eight youth in the so called elections for Srinagar
parliamentary by-polls, the Awami Action Committee (AAC) has termed the gruesome murder of the youth as atrocious, barbaric and the state sponsored genocide.
The AAC has further denounced the use of atrocious force against the youth during which 100 people were injured, some of them sustaining injuries in their eyes, after the government forces fired pellets and bullets on the innocent souls. The party further prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
While paying tributes to the eight young youth Aqeel Ahmad Wani, Adil Farooq Sheikh, Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Faizan Ahmad, Muhammad Abbas, Nisar Ahmad, Amir Bashir Malla and Umar Farooq killed by the forces on Sunday, the AAC said the party leadership along with entire Kashmir stands behind the families of the deceased in these testing times.
Expressing solidarity and sympathy with the families of the martyred youth, the AAC stated that the youth were martyred because they showed exemplary courage and commitment towards the struggle.
The AAC stated that it has been the oft-repeated stand of AAC that selection or election in no way can be a substitute to the right to self determination as projected by the Indian state. It stated that the government of India was time and again repeating the propaganda of elections to mislead the world. Till the Kashmir issue is not resolved politically through the exercise of right to self determination, the AAC stated such sham exercises would always turn out to be a futile.
Terming the staging of election as a mere drama in Kashmir, the AAC stated that the pro-Indian politicians always resort to double speak when in power and when out of power.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
By boycotting sham elections and observing strikes across the Kashmir, the AAC stated that it proves one thing; that Kashmiris want permanent resolution of Kashmir dispute in accordance with their wishes and political aspirations which would foster cordial relations between Pakistan and India, bring lasting peace, prosperity and political stability in the entire south Asia.
Meanwhile, on the instruction of the AAC head, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, a joint delegation of APHC and AAC comprising of senior leaders Ghulam Qadir Beigh and Mohamma Shafi Khan, Sofi Mushtaq Ahmad, Advocate Yasir Ahmad Dalal, and others visited those areas of Budgam where the government forces killed the Kashmiri youth. On the occasion, Mirwaiz spoke the bereaved families through telephone and expressed his solidarity and sympathy with them. He also prayed for the deceased soul and assured them entire Kashmiri leadership and the people were with them in these testing times. He said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will not be allowed to go in vain at any cost.
Meanwhile a high level delegation of Awami Action Committee (AAC) on the directions of incarcerated Chairman APHC and patron AAC today visited city hospitals including SKIMS and SMHS to inquire about the well being of those who were injured during the action of forces on Sunday in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The delegation, which comprised of the AAC leaders Muhammad Shafi Khan, Advocate Yasir Dalal, Dr Umar, Khurshid Ahmad and others, expressed their sympathy with the injured and prayed for their speedy recovery.
The delegation on the occasion conveyed Mirwaiz’s message that entire Kashmir stood behind them in these testing times and prayed for their early recovery. (KNS)
