Pattan, June 24 (KNS): At least 8 councillors of Pattan Municipal Council have submitted a no-confidence motion against MC president Pattan, Pritipal Singh Oberoi, official sources said here on Friday.
Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that 8 out of 12 councillors have submitted the no-confidence motion before DC Baramulla and director urban local bodies, besides executive officer Municipal Council Pattan.
They said that the councillors have accused MC president of failing to deliver his duties towards the general public of Pattan.
They said that they have alleged he has failed to do developmental activities in Pattan, as since last one year major funds lapsed due to his inefficiency.
Meanwhile, Pritipal Singh Oberoi while talking to KNS said that these are few councillors who are just doing a political drama as they were involved in taking money from the people.
He said that he has been against the corruption since he took over the charge of MC Pattan and he would prefer to resign but won't allow corruption in his office.
Executive officer Municipal Council Pattan told KNS that he has forwarded the letter to legal executive for further legal consideration. (KNS)
