Jammu, Jan 26 (KNS) : The newly formed Jammu Railway Division of Northern Railway celebrated the 77th Republic Day today with great grandeur and patriotic fervor. The national flag was hoisted at Jammu, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, Srinagar, and other railway stations, as well as at the historic Chenab Bridge and Anji Khad Bridge, symbolizing the nation's progress.
Main Ceremony and Flag Hoisting
The main ceremony was held at the Railway Ground near Jammu Railway Station, where the Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Shri Vivek Kumar, hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the march past after the national anthem. The Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, and other senior officers and employees were prominently present at the event.
During his address, he highlighted the operational achievements of the Jammu Railway Division in the past year. He said, "This division, established in 2025, is strengthening our resolve to connect the Kashmir Valley with the rest of the country." He further stated, "Safety and security are the top priorities of Indian Railways, and the Jammu Division is committed to providing the best services to passengers."
During the program, patriotic cultural programs were organized. Awards were distributed to outstanding railway employees by the Divisional Railway Manager, Jammu, Vivek Kumar. Special demonstrations were also presented by the security forces, including K9 units. (KNS)
