Srinagar, June 02 (KNS): The state government on Thursday said that it has engaged more than 600 youth as Special Police Officers (SPO) since March 2015.
“Since March, 2015 till date, 672 youth have been engaged as SPOs in the Police Department on operational grounds,” Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who holds the charge of home department, said in the ongoing Budget Session in a written reply to a question by NC MLA, Muhammad Akbar Lone during Question Hour.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
However, the chief minister citing “nature of their engagement (Operational grounds),” said that it would not be feasible to disclose their names.
Lone had asked a written question to the state government about the number of SPO’s engaged by the present government since March, 2015 till date along with their full particulars. (KNS)
