Budgam , July 28 (KNS): In a significant outreach initiative, the Company Operating Base (COB) of 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Humpora Satmano, under the aegis of the Indian Army, organised a comprehensive health camp for both humans and animals at Haijan Branwar in Chadoora area of Budgam district on Monday.
A large number of villagers from remote areas including Branwar, Jabbad, Zilsidar, and Neegu availed the medical facilities. Army doctors conducted free medical check-ups and distributed essential medicines to patients. In a parallel effort, a veterinary health camp was also held where locals brought their livestock—such as sheep, goats, cows, and horses—for examination and treatment.
Army medical officers, in collaboration with veterinary experts from the Animal Husbandry Department, including Dr Maria and Dr Manzoor Ahmad, provided preventive care, vaccinations, and medicines to approximately 200 animals.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe team also educated locals about prevalent animal diseases and sensitised them about various government schemes available to promote livestock development. Villagers were encouraged to take advantage of subsidised livestock procurement to strengthen their livelihoods and boost local economy.
Simultaneously, a separate medical camp was organised for seasonal forest dwellers, where expert army doctors conducted health check-ups and provided free medicines for a range of ailments.
The local population expressed deep gratitude for the initiative, particularly appreciating the efforts of the Commanding Officer of 53 RR Nagam and the Company Commander of Humpora Satmano COB, for their dedication to community welfare.(KNS)
