Srinagar, Dec 30 (KNS): The latest annual report on Human Rights violation reveals that 53 civilians have been killed by the forces including the unidentified gunmen in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Human Rights violation report was prepared by the Human Rights Division of Hurriyat (M) led by Mannan Bukhari and assisted by Mir Imran and was presented before a Hurriyat (M) meeting held at Rajbagh under the Chairmanship of Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq.
According to the Hurriyat (M) released 25-page report, in 2015, 53 civilians have been killed by the forces and unidentified gunmen in the state. “Out of 53 civilians, 5 persons have been killed by armed forces personnel, 4 were killed in cross firing incidents between forces and militants while 17 persons have been killed by unidentified gunmen,” report reveals.
Pertinently, Burhan Bashir Bhat, a three year old kid of Sopore was also killed by the unidentified gunmen on September 19 this year.
The report further adds that 12 civilians have been killed in border firing or shelling between Indian and Pakistani troops while 09 persons were killed due to littered or unexploded shells and mines.
According to the report, unexploded shells, littered explosives and live ammunition have led to the death of several persons and grievous injuries to scores of people in the far away areas of the state.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Maximum number of person who became victims of these shells was children as out of 09 people, 5 were children,” report said.
“One civilian was killed in police custody while 01 person was killed by fanatic goons in Udhampur incident in which they attacked their truck by petrol bombs thereby lost his life due to burn injuries at hospital,” report reads.
Bukhari’s prepared violation report reveals that one person lost his life due to a grenade blast in Anantnag while 04 civilian deaths are attributed to state sponsored militia Village Defense Committee VDC’s.
The report further mentioned that out of total number of deaths in violent incidents, one Pakistani prisoner lodged in Central Jail Srinagar, died in a mysterious blast.
According to the report, January is only month in which no civilian was killed across the state while as the month of August tops in the report as 13 civilians were killed in it. “In the month of February, 2 civilian deaths were reported, while 2,5, 3, 6, 5, 13, 6, 1, 3, 7 respectively are the number of deaths reported from March to December of this year,” reports adds.
