50 Years of 1971 War: Swarnim Vijay Mashal welcomed by "Qaziabad Tigers" Rajwar Sector

Langate June 25 (KNS); To commemorate 50 years of victory of Indian Armed Forces in 1971 Indo- Pakistan war, year 2021 is being celebrated as Swarnim Vijay Varsh and nationwide celebration have been planned during the year.

 

The ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ was lighted by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi Ji on 16 December 2020 at the National War Memorial, New Delhi. 

 

In a statement to Kashmir News Service (KNS), a spokesperson said that the journey of Swarnim Vijay Mashal in 15 Corps Zone commenced on 15 Jun 2021 from Jawahar Tunnel.  

 

“The victory flame arrived in, Langate and was received at Udipora Langate on 25 June and was welcomed at 11 o clock morning of North Kashmir Kupwara district. 

 

 The events kick started with a one mile commemorative run., organsied to carry the Mashal to Army Camp, Langate. The Mashal was carried by Security Forces personnel, Civil Dignitaries, NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and School Children. 

 

It said that enroute to Langate the victory flame was paraded through Qaziabad Langate in a grand procession. “The victory flame also made a halt on the highway of Handwara Langate at Udipora. 

 

“Arrival of victory flame in Langate was welcomed warmly by locals who stood along the road and showered petals as the Victory flame passed by. The flame was escorted by a marching contingent of Langate RR, CRPF, NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and JKP Band filling the atmosphere with nationalist pride.”

 

The Mashal was later established on stage and the event was celebrated by the Cultural Programmes and Felicitation of 1971 War Veterans, War Widows and Veer Naris by Commander, Rajwar Sector. 

 

The event witnessed huge participation from Army, CRPF, JKP, Civil Administration, NCC Cadets, Scouts and Guides and Children who performed various events and graced the occasion.

 

“A Wreath laying ceremony followed by musical performance paying tribute to martyrs was organised at Langate camp. 

 

On completion of the celebrations at Army Camp, Langate, the ‘Swarnim Vijay Mashal’ proceeded for its further journey. The event filled hearts of the Awam with *pride for the nation and respect for the martyrs of 1971 War. (KNS)
