5 persons saved from joining militant ranks: Police

Srinagar, July 15 (KNS): Srinagar police on Friday claimed to have saved fiver persons f from joining militant ranks in the Kashmir Valley and in this regard had convened a meeting. 

 
According to a statement, issued to Kashmir News Service (KNS), on July 08 Police Station Kralkhud received an information through reliable sources that a group of miscreants have gathered at Babademb Naqashpora ground and were convening a meeting. 
 
The statement reads that as per the information, the group included Bilal Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Sideeq Malla 
of Lolab, Haseeb Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Pulwama, Shah Fahad Shabir sim of Shabir Ahmad Teli of Pulwama and Reyaz Ahmad Mughal son of Abdul Rasheed Mughal 
of Kupwara. 
 
It reads that the group has had a known history of being linked with TRF wing of LeT and have been known to have had conversations over phone with their handlers in POK. “Also, as per inputs the whole group was in a bid to join militant ranks anytime after Eid al Adha.”
 
It reads that since these activities of the said group were pre-judicial to the security of the country, and considering the reliable inputs about their efforts to join militant ranks, they were arrested on spot.
 
“Based on further investigation another accused Mohd Imroz Dar son of Fayaz Ahmed Dar of Pulwama, who was also making efforts to join militant ranks, was also arrested.” 
 
It added that accordingly, a case FIR No 22/2022 US 13 UAPA has been registered in Police Station Kralkhud and further investigation has been taken up. (KNS)
