43-Kanal ANMT School Campus Cries for Fencing, Ground Development in Bandipora

Bandipora, Aug 24(KNS): Students, teachers, traders, civil society members and local residents have urged the authorities to fence the campus of the ANMT School Bandipora and undertake immediate development of its ground, which they said remains in a poor and neglected condition.

The school has around 43 kanals of land allotted for its campus, but the absence of proper fencing has become a major concern for students and staff. Locals alleged that some people use the open premises to tie their livestock, raising questions over the security and upkeep of the institution.

The school ground, they said, is dotted with potholes and frequently remains waterlogged, making it difficult for students to use the premises safely.

Several female students expressed concern over the lack of fencing, saying that a nursing institution should have a secure and dignified environment, particularly for female students.

Students and residents have also demanded that the ground be properly filled, levelled and provided with adequate drainage to prevent waterlogging.

Local resident Nazir Ahmad said the elected representatives could play an important role in resolving the issue.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

“If the three MLAs of Bandipora contribute towards fencing the school, it would be a welcome initiative. The nursing school serves the people of all three constituencies and should be treated as a common institution,” he said.

Residents said the demand for better infrastructure at the ANMT School is not new, with concerns over basic facilities and the condition of the campus having been raised earlier as well.

They have appealed to the District Administration, Health Department and elected representatives to intervene and ensure immediate fencing, filling and development of the school ground.

Locals said a properly secured and developed campus would not only improve the learning environment but also provide students with the dignity and safety they deserve.

They urged the authorities to treat the matter as a priority and restore the ANMT School campus to a condition befitting an important nursing-training institution in the district. (KNS)
