Srinagar, July 22(KNS): Forest officials arrested four timber smugglers on Thursday and seized 31 cft timber from their possession in Tangmerg Forest Division.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS), that 

based on a specific input, officials of Forest Protection Force and Tangmarg Forest Division in the early dawn hours around 4.00 a.m on 22/7/2021 seized a TATA Mobile Vehicle loaded with illicit timber kail 7 logs =31cfts at PMGSY Road Buderkote block in Gulmarg Range.

"During the operation, the culprits were also apprehended and later on handed over to police station Tangmarg, " he said. 

"A case vide FIR NO.66 of 2021 Dated. 22/7/2021 has been lodged against the culprits in Police station Tangmarg, " an official said. 

The official said that as per DFO Tangmarg, stringent action will be taken against anyone who is found to be involved in any kind of forest damage.(KNS).
