Says killers of Amreen Bhat killed in less than 24 hours

Srinagar, May 27 (KNS): Four LeT militants were killed in two encounter in Soura and Awanripora areas Srinagar and Pulwama districts respectively on Friday morning, inspector general of police Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said here.  

 
Talking to reporters here, he said that two LeT militants involved in the killing of TV artist Amreen Bhat were killed in Awantipora encounter. “They had killed the TV artist on the instructions of LeT commander Lateed,” he said. 
 
He said that justice has been served to the family as two militants involved in the heinous crime were killed in less than 24 hours.
 
He added that two more militants of LeT were killed in Soura area of Srinagar in the wee hours today.
 
“Police had got inputs about the presence of militants in the area and a small team of Srinagar police was following them. During the encounter both militants were killed,” he said.
 
Earlier, encounters broke out in Soura and Awantipora areas following the presence of militants in these areas. 
 
Two militants of LeT killed killed in Soura have been identified as Shakir Ahmed Waza  & Afreen Aftab Malik—both residents of Trenz village of Shopian and were 'C' categorised. 
 
Militants killed in Awantipora have been identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat of Hafroo Chadoora Budgam & Farhan Habib of Hakripora Pulwama. (KNS)
