Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNS): Under Participatory Community-based disaster Risk Reduction Program Titled “SHIRKAT” run by CSSS J&K and supported by Caritas India conducted 1-day First-Aid training on 25th February, 2019 at SHIRKAT office Pulwama.
The training program was coordinated with District health and social welfare department facilitated by Civil Defence/SDRF Pulwama under the guidance of District disaster Management authority and SDMA.
Trainer from Civil defence encourages the participants in the community based disaster Preparedness as the health workers are the first responders; he enlightened the role and responsibilities of community health workers and basics of community based methods for Planning, Preparedness and Prevention.
Trainer Gh Nabi trained the participants through mock drill exercises on first Aid and Pre hospital treatment (PHT) and how to minimize the causalities during any eventuality in providing timely assistance.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAsha and Anganwari workers showed immense participation through the training sessions and asked many questions for preparedness and response .All the Health workers were expressed their views that it is needful training in the current situation as we are facing such situation on daily basis. District health and social welfare officers appreciated such trainings for community level workers and reaching out grassroots level.
