3 timber smugglers arrested in budgam, illicit timber along with horses seized

Budgam November 20:(KNS) The Forest Protection Force and Police officials on Saturday carried out joint operation in Pirpanjal Forest Division and have reportedly seized three culprits along with horses which were loaded with illicit timber at Pakherpora village in district Budgam.

In an official statement issued to Kashmir News Service, (KNS) by Joint Director, Forest Protection Force, Irfan Rasool Wani, he informed that a joint anti-smuggling operation was launched in Pakerpora village by officials of K-03 unit of FPF and Police post Pakherpora. Three smugglers were arrested onspot with three horses which were loaded with illicit timber 35 cfts Fir timber in the operation.

 

The smugglers have come from Chowan area of Keller Shopian and were apprehended while trying to enter into Pakherpora village, he informed.

The culprits apprehended on spot have been identified as, Showkat Ahmad Awan S/o Mohd Shafi Awan R/o Chowan Kellar Shopion, Gh Mohidin Parry S/o Ab Ahad Parry R/o Chowan Kellar Shopion and Shabir Ahmad Tedwa S/o Mohd Yaqoob Tedwa R/o Sangerwani Pulwama.(KNS)
