3 militants involved in killing of Migrant Labour arrested in Bandipora : Police

Bandipora, Sep 17 (KNS): Bandipora Police on Saturday claimed to have solved killing of non local by arresting three local militants involved in the killing and recovered a pistol from their possession.

The police said that on the intervening night of 11-12 August, a non-local labourer  Amrez Masoori Resident of Bihar was shot dead by some unknown Militants in Sadunara. "Formal case was registered under relevant provisions of law and investigation was set into motion," it said. 

"During the course of investigation various suspects were called and questioned and technical assistance was also brought into use and eventually it was found that three local terrorists  Waseem Akram Yawar Reyaz and Muzamil Sheikh all residents of Sadunara were in touch with an LET handler @Baber who is operating from Pakistan," it said. 

The police futher said that Baber had instructed them to kill any non-local labourer to terrorize the non-locals to leave the valley and carry out more such strikes in future to revive the local militancy in Bandipora. "As on date there is no local militant active in District Bandipora," it said. 

"During the investigation, the weapon of offense, 01 pistol alongwith a magazine and 4 live rounds which were concealed by these terrorists, have been recovered in the case," the police said.(KNS)
