Bandipora, Feb 03 (KNS): At least three avalanches struck three villages in Tulail area of Gurez Valley in north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Friday blocking Kishenganga river.
An official told news agency KNS that water flow of the Kishenganga river was blocked after 3 avalanches hit three villages in Tulail.
He said the avalanches hit Wazirthal, Neeru and Gujran villages.
He said the avalanche at Gugran Tulail also affected water supply to several habitations.
The official said teams have already been dispatched to the area to assess the situation and gather more data.
Meanwhile, residents have been asked to use caution and refrain from venturing outside in areas close to Kishanganga, mountains, or avalanche prone areas. (KNS)
