SDM Noorabad says 20 students stable, rest undergoing treatment

Srinagar, June 16 (KNS): At least 29 students of Eklavya Model Residential School Aharbal (EMRS) in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district were hospitalised due a viral infection.


Initially, it was said that the students had suffered food poisoning, however, SDM Noorabad Bashir Ul Hassan while taking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) denied food poisoning as the cause of the hospitalisation.

He said that a team of health workers has been sent to the spot to ascertain the actual cause of infection.

SDM said that they have not suffered any food poisoning. “Earlier, we received a call from the school, following which we sent a team including officials of Jal Shakti department.”

He said that at least 29 students have been hospitalised due to some respiratory infections, but 20 among them are stable and rest are being under treatment. (KNS)
