Handwara, July 31(KNS) : Police in North kashmir's Handwara arrested a person and recovered 20 bottles of illicit liquor from his possession, police said on Sunday.
A police official said that a police party of Police Station Qalamabad while on naka at Yahama crossing apprehended one person who had attempted to evade the police party in a suspicious manner.
"On search, 20 bottles of illicit liquor of 750 ml each (15 litres) being carried unauthorisedly were recovered from his possession," he said.
The official identified him as Gh Mohd Lone son of Jabbar Lone of Yahama. "In relation to this, case FIR No. 49/2022 U/s 48 Excise Act has been registered at PS Qalamabad and investigation has been initiated," the official said.(KNS).
